Mobile Strategy - Cutting the Cost and Confusion out of IT and Telecommunications for Business.

Newsletter #9

Newsletter #9

Dear Reader

Things have been moving forward here at Mobile Strategy so I thought I would use this newsletter to update you on our new procurement service, the changes in phone rates coming along and the upcoming Transform IT event.

Hardware procurement

Firstly our new hardware procurement service has been busy – we have sold over $65,000 of hardware and software this year to date, and a large part of this came as a result of the recent launch of a new partnership with a great procurement organisation. They have made our ability to interpret your requirements into specific product options much more efficient, and provide us with access to all the major manufacturers.
We developed this service specifically for people who find technology confusing – or simply don’t have the time to do the research to select the best product for their needs. We listen to your business requirements and then convert them into a more technical specification which we then source. Most of our sourcing goes through our new procurement partner but we also have some more specialist providers as appropriate. We will then recommend one or two appropriate models for you, with good consistent low pricing.
We will also configure, install and support the technology if you need that – whether you buy it from us or from someone else.
Above all we keep everything on the same monthly account with our existing terms of trade. No need to pull out the company credit card or open a new account, and no need to wonder if you really understand the salesman’s pitch about the latest great technology.
Some recent examples of products we have sourced for our customers include laptops, rack mounted servers, data centre racks, screens, keyboards, projectors, Microsoft and Adobe Enterprise Licensing and Phone systems and components.
So if you want a simple way to buy technology, where you know you will get a great solution for a good price, call Phil on (09) 477 3601.

Online Phone Call Optimiser

I have been saying for a while now that customers should hold off making decisions about changing Telco providers as phone rates are coming down shortly. This is driven by both the highly competitive market at present and government regulation changes that will drop mobile termination rates significantly. As part of our on-going review of our providers, we are finalising a new series of rates from one of our major providers which give great value both to users of traditional analogue and ISDN circuits and SIP over high speed data lines.

Unlike other telecommunication providers – all of our customers currently on our standard rates will immediately receive the benefit of these new rates when they are released.

To make it easy to see if you will save money on these rates we also plan to launch publicly this month our new web based phone optimisation tool, which business decision makers can use to compare their phone bill with other providers to benchmark their costs.

The online tool is designed to be simple to use and gives a broad brush review of calling costs – but the system behind this has the capability to fully analyse any phone bill at a call level against any rate plan (even a custom corporate rate plan) and identify where the savings can be made. When we have used this for our corporate customers it has helped to identify which phones are being used inappropriately, where text bundles should be applied and which offer was best value between two companies. If you are interested in having a detailed look at where the money really goes in your telecommunication costs, please reply to this email.

Transform IT

Auckland Chamber of Commerce hold an IT event each year – and at the end of this month we will be both presenting a case study and exhibiting at the conference with a focus on how to get the best out of your Broadband service. With the government focusing on the fibre rollout to improve performance, there is a lot of focus and discussion around what we will use that performance for.

Our presentation will demonstrate some of the many ways to you can leverage broadband not just for web and email but to take cost and complexity out of your IT and phone services whilst at the same time improving your productivity. Come along and listen to some great speakers – I certainly learnt a lot from last year’s event and look forward to some interesting presentations and discussions this year.

The event will take place on 29th of March, 9:00 – 12:00 and is complimentary, held in the Rendezvous Hotel in Auckland. Register at the Chamber of Commerce site here: http://www.chamber.co.nz/Events/Events/TransformIT.aspx
